"Hello! I’m Nicolas, the Chief Product Officer at Next Gate Tech, and I’m looking for a passionate Backend Software Engineer with a builder’s mindset to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software that powers our innovative SaaS platform. You’ll work closely with our product and engineering teams to take projects from concept to completion, turning ideas into solutions that reshape the fund industry’s operations. We’re looking for someone who thrives on solving complex problems and is excited to bring new ideas to life through technology."

Responsibilities include 

• Drive the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of platform features, microservices, data pipelines, and APIs, ensuring performance, scalability, quality, and efficient technical debt management

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to gather requirements and ensure technical feasibility

• Analyze and resolve technical issues; provide clear solutions and guidance to complex problems

• Participate in testing activities to ensure high-quality deliverables, and contribute to release and deployment processes

• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers as needed

• Expand domain knowledge, mentor junior engineers, and play a larger role in system and architecture design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience

• Proficient in backend technologies including Python, with a deep understanding of software architecture, (data) structures and design principles

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and deployment services (GCP, AWS)

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, with a focus on best practices in data modeling and performance optimization of building scalable data pipelines

• Exposure to building and scaling microservices, RESTful APIs and distributed systems

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
